The Care Plus Picaridin range includes Care Plus Picaridin Repel-it Spray and Care Plus Picaridin Anti-Insect For Kids Spray. Both the American Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, and the World Health Organization consider Picaridin as an effective insect repellent offering protection against malaria and the West Nile Virus amongst others.
Both Repel-it and Anti-Insect For Kids use a spray application and offer protection for up to 8 hours against mosquitoes and 2 1/2 hours against ticks and other biting insects. Interestingly Picaridin based repellents are considered by some experts more effective than DEET against sand flies and midges. One bottle of Repel-it or Anti-Insect For Kids contains enough product to provide protection for 2 to 3 weeks use (in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions).
Care Plus Anti-Insect For Kids is a Picaridin based repellent formulated specifically for use on children aged 2 and over. This product is easy and hygienic to apply, and unlike DEET based products, picaridin repellents do not corrode plastics and so will not damage spectacles, phones, cameras or general fixtures and fittings that children may come into contact with before the repellent has dried.
